A RESOLUTION
Commending the Harrison High School Girls Golf Team
and inviting the team and the coach to appear before the House of
Representatives; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS, the Harrison High School
Girls Golf Team has established a proud tradition of excellence in women's golf
and brought fame and honor to the school and the community by winning the state
title on May 8, 2000; and
WHEREAS, the Lady
Hoyas completed an extremely successful season and captured the coveted crown by
shooting a 164 and beating Fayette County by five strokes;
and
WHEREAS, the athletic ability,
individual motivation, and remarkable resiliency of these young women reflect
their commitment to perform at their best and the expert training and experience
of their coach, Billy Peek; and
WHEREAS, the
outstanding accomplishments of this great team generated well-deserved attention
and strengthened the school spirit, and the team members and their fellow
students will cherish their memories
forever.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize and commend
the Harrison High School Girls Golf Team on winning the state title and invite
the team and the coach to appear before the House of Representatives at a time
to be determined by the Speaker.
BE IT FURTHER
RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and
directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Coach Billy
Peek.
