A RESOLUTION

Commending the Harrison High School Girls' Softball Team and inviting the team and their coach to appear before the House of Representatives; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, the Harrison High School Girls' Softball Team won the 2000 state AAAAA title and brought fame and honor to their school, their team, and their community and contributed to the proud record young women have made in interscholastic high school athletics; and

WHEREAS, the Harrison High School Lady Hoyas finished as state runner-up twice and in third place in the past three years, and the coveted state championship crown was finally bestowed on this outstanding team; and

WHEREAS, these fine athletes demonstrated their ability, determination, and teamwork throughout the season, and their solid record reflected the excellent training and experience provided by their dedicated coach, Janet Oglesby; and

WHEREAS, the victory of the Harrison High Lady Hoyas will long be remembered by the fellow students and parents of this great team and the players and their coach will cherish this memory forever.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend the Harrison High School Girls' Softball Team on winning the state championship title and invite the team members and their coach to appear before the House of Representatives at a time to be determined by the Speaker.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Coach Janet Oglesby.
