A BILL TO BE
ENTITLED
AN ACT
To amend Code Section 16-12-35 of the Official Code of
Georgia Annotated, relating to the applicability of laws relating to gambling,
so as to provide that certain coin operated amusement games and devices shall be
subject to local legislation; to provide an effective date; to repeal
conflicting laws; and for other purposes.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
GEORGIA:
SECTION 1.
Code Section 16-12-35 of the Official Code of Georgia
Annotated, relating to the applicability of laws relating to gambling, is
amended by inserting at the end of subsection (d) the
following:
"(3)
Any other provision of law to the contrary notwithstanding, the General Assembly
is authorized by local legislation to control, limit, prohibit, or otherwise
govern the use of any coin operated amusement game or device described in
paragraph (1) of this subsection in any political
subdivision."
SECTION 2.
This Act shall become effective upon its approval by the
Governor or upon its becoming law without such approval.
SECTION 3.
All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are
repealed.
