A BILL TO BE
ENTITLED
AN ACT
To amend an Act creating the Downtown Marietta Development
Authority, approved April 10, 1971 (Ga. L. 1971, p. 3459), as amended,
particularly by an Act approved April 19, 2000 (Ga. L. 2000, p. 4124), so as to
provide for the creation of a historical review board to make recommendations to
the authority regarding the preservation and renovation of historical properties
located within the Downtown Marietta District; to provide for related matters;
to repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
GEORGIA:
SECTION 1.
An Act creating the Downtown Marietta Development Authority,
approved April 10, 1971 (Ga. L. 1971, p. 3459), as amended, particularly by an
Act approved April 19, 2000 (Ga. L. 2000, p. 4124), is amended by adding a new
Section 2.2 to read as follows:
"SECTION
2.2.
A historical review board shall make recommendations to the
authority regarding the preservation and renovation of the historical properties
located within the Downtown Marietta District. The historical review board
shall be composed of seven members who shall be appointed by and serve at the
pleasure of the mayor and city council of
Marietta."
SECTION 2.
All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are
repealed.
