A BILL TO BE
ENTITLED
AN ACT
To amend Chapter 2 of Title 28 of the Official Code of
Georgia Annotated, relating to apportionment of the House of Representatives and
Senate and qualifications of members, so as to provide for the composition and
number of state house districts; to provide for other matters relative to the
foregoing; to provide an effective date; to repeal conflicting laws; and for
other purposes.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
GEORGIA:
SECTION 1.
Chapter 2 of Title 28 of the Official Code of Georgia
Annotated, relating to apportionment of the House of Representatives and Senate
and qualifications of members, is amended by striking the description of House
Districts 1 through 147 immediately following the second sentence of
subparagraph (a)(3)(C) of Code Section 28-2-1, relating to apportionment and
qualifications for the House of Representatives, and inserting in its place the
description of House Districts 1 through 147 as enacted by an Act approved
October 1, 2001 (Ga. L. 2001, Ex. Sess., p. 425).
SECTION 2.
This Act shall become effective upon its approval by the
Governor or upon its becoming law without such approval.
SECTION 3.
All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are
repealed.
