Senate Resolution

A RESOLUTION
Commending Mr. Edward L. Corley; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS, Mr. Edward L. Corley of Lilburn,
Georgia, for 37 years has played a vital role in helping to build our
nation’s defense system; and
WHEREAS, he has
diligently and conscientiously applied his numerous talents and excellent
management skills to his work as Deputy Commander of his unit at Lockheed Martin
Aeronautics Company in Marietta, ensuring that top quality products are
delivered to the federal government at affordable prices;
and
WHEREAS, during his 37 years of service he has
provided efficient and effective management of contracts that have included the
F-22 Raptor and the C-130J Hercules aircraft, as well as modification of the C-5
Galaxy fleet and spare parts support for the P-3 Orion and ES-3A Sentry;
and
WHEREAS, his superlative service has included
oversight of more than 1,800 contracts valued at more than $29 billion;
and
WHEREAS, his significant organizational,
management, and leadership talents have earned him the respect and admiration of
his colleagues and associates; and
WHEREAS, it is
abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this
remarkable and distinguished Georgian be appropriately
recognized.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
SENATE that the members of this body commend Mr. Edward L. Corley for his many
years of efficient, effective, unselfish, and dedicated service to the citizens
of this state and nation; convey to him their heartiest congratulations upon the
occasion of his retirement; and extend to him their sincere best wishes for
continued health and happiness.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED
that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to transmit an
appropriate copy of this resolution to Mr. Edward L. Corley.
