Senate Resolution
189

A RESOLUTION
Recognizing GAE Legislative Conference Day; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS, the Georgia Association of
Educators (GAE) is the oldest organization in Georgia to represent school
employees in every public school district in Georgia;
and
WHEREAS, the GAE represents public school
teachers, administrators, education support personnel, retired educators, and
college students; and
WHEREAS, the GAE continues to
promote excellence in Georgia´s public schools;
and
WHEREAS, the GAE supports efforts to protect
the health and safety of all children and school employees;
and
WHEREAS, the GAE supports efforts to attract
and retain well-qualified, prepared educators to teach every child in
Georgia´s public schools; and
WHEREAS, the GAE
supports efforts to prepare children for the jobs of tomorrow;
and
WHEREAS, the GAE supports efforts to protect
and expand the rights and benefits of all school employees;
and
WHEREAS, the GAE annually conducts a
Legislative Conference providing an opportunity for GAE members from every
school district to discuss legislative priorities with members of the Georgia
General Assembly.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY
THE SENATE that the members of this body recognize February 26, 2001, as GAE
Legislative Conference Day and convey all the accolades and appreciation
possible to acknowledge the dedicated hard work of every public school employee
in Georgia.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary
of the Senate is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this
resolution to the Georgia Association of Educators.
