Senate Resolution

A RESOLUTION
Congratulating Katie Peters; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS, Katie Peters of Camilla,
Georgia, is the reigning Miss Georgia High School Rodeo Queen;
and
WHEREAS, she earned the title with a stellar
performance in the Georgia High School Rodeo Association's state finals held in
Perry, Georgia, in June, 2000; and
WHEREAS, the
state finals featured the top 20 contestants for each event competing in three
rodeos throughout the weekend; and
WHEREAS, Katie,
riding her horse Fantasy, participated in barrels, pole bending, break-away
roping, goat tying, team roping, cutting, and the Queen's contest;
and
WHEREAS, by the end of the weekend, Katie had
distinguished herself and won four saddles, five plaques, and five buckles and
was crowned Rodeo Queen; and
WHEREAS, in July,
2000, she proudly represented the State of Georgia in the National High School
Rodeo, the world's largest rodeo featuring over 1,500 contestants from 38
states, four Canadian provinces, and Australia;
and
WHEREAS, Katie's achievement has greatly
honored her community and her parents, Terrie Eubanks of Camilla and Michael
Peters of Sarasota, Florida.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT
RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body congratulate Katie Peters
on being named the title Miss Georgia High School Rodeo Queen and commend her
for her inspiring commitment to excellence and
success.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the
Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate
copy of this resolution to Katie Peters.
