Senate Resolution

A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending Lieutenant Bill L. Mull; and for
other purposes.
WHEREAS, Lieutenant Bill L. Mull of
the Cobb County Police Department received the Officer of the Year for
Meritorious Service Award for 2000 from the Peace Officers Association of
Georgia; and
WHEREAS, he began his career with the
Cobb County Police Department on April 16, 1966, and was assigned to the Uniform
Patrol Bureau; in 1972, he was appointed to the newly created Metropolitan
Atlanta Narcotics Squad; in 1976, he was assigned to the Property Crimes
division; in1979, he returned to the Uniform Patrol Bureau; he commanded the
D.U.I. Task Force from 1986 through 1993 when he became the adjutant to the
Deputy Chief of Police; and, in 1999, he was appointed to command the police
rangers; and
WHEREAS, throughout his 34 years of
service, he has demonstrated an excellent knowledge of law enforcement procedure
and an abiding commitment to public safety standards of conduct, and his
superiors have regularly recognized his ability and teamwork;
and
WHEREAS, he has performed his official duties
with the utmost dedication and care, and his service has consistently been
worthy of confidence and public trust; and
WHEREAS,
he has contributed substantially to the peace and safety of the community he
serves, and his professionalism and diligence merit the highest
praise.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
SENATE that the members of this body recognize and commend Lieutenant Bill L.
Mull on receiving the Officer of the Year for Meritorious Service Award for
2000.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of
the Senate is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this
resolution to Lieutenant Bill L. Mull.
