Senate Resolution
38

A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending Dr. W.C. "Bill" Arwood, Jr.; and
for other purposes.
WHEREAS, Dr. W.C. "Bill"
Arwood, Jr., has served with the utmost diligence and care as a family physician
in Pelham, Georgia, for 43 years where he has substantially improved the quality
of life and the well-being of his fellow citizens and their families;
and
WHEREAS, he is a native of Moultrie, Georgia,
and he earned his medical degree at Emory University where he graduated the
first in his class at age 23, served his country with honor, completed a surgery
residency, and joined the late Dr. J.C. Brim at the Pelham Clinic in 1957 where
he pursued his dream of practicing medicine in a small town;
and
WHEREAS, he generously gave his time and talent
to his community, took emergency calls day and night at the Mitchell County
Hospital for over 40 years, served as the medical director for Parkway Nursing
Home for many years, and was chairman of the board of the Mitchell County Health
Department since 1971; and
WHEREAS, his intellect,
commitment, and compassion are well known and have earned him the respect and
admiration of his colleagues and the appreciation and love of his community.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that
the members of this body recognize and commend Dr. W.C. "Bill" Arwood, Jr., for
his superb community service as a distinguished family physician and convey to
him their sincere appreciation and best wishes in his
retirement.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the
Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate
copy of this resolution to Dr. W.C. "Bill" Arwood, Jr.
