Senate Resolution
559

ADOPTED SENATE
A RESOLUTION
Extending well wishes to Dr. Charles H. Green upon his
retirement as president of Tallulah Falls School; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS, Dr. Charles H. Green has been a
major contributor to quality education in the State of Georgia;
and
WHEREAS, Dr. Green formerly taught English,
then served as school principal in Thomasville and Valdosta; and later served as
superintendent of Ware County schools and Griffin-Spalding schools until being
named president of Tallulah Falls in 1989;
and
WHEREAS, Dr. Green was president of Tallulah
Falls School from 1989-2001; and
WHEREAS, he worked
well with the students, faculty, and staff and particularly the school´s
owners, the Georgia Federation of Women´s Clubs and earned their
unqualified respect and admiration; and
WHEREAS,
among the milestones of Dr. Green´s administration were: a major expansion
of the campus facilities; two new buildings, the student center and dining
facility; classroom and dormitory renovations; underground utilities; moving and
renovating the school´s museum; expanded athletic facilities; and new
tennis courts and baseball field; and
WHEREAS, Dr.
Green and his wife, Barbara, plan to be active in their retirement from their
home in Clarkesville, Georgia.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE
IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body commend Dr. Charles H.
Green for his many years of dedicated service as a leader in education in the
State of Georgia and extend their sincere best wishes for continued health and
happiness.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the
Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate
copy of this resolution to Dr. Charles H. Green.
