ADOPTED SENATE

A RESOLUTION

Congratulating Kandice Pelletier, Miss Cobb County 2002; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, the beautiful, intelligent, and talented Kandice Pelletier was selected as Miss Cobb County 2002 and will represent the county in the Miss Georgia Pageant to be held in Columbus in June, 2002; and

WHEREAS, Kandice is a 2000 honor graduate of North Cobb High School; and

WHEREAS, she currently is a freshman at Kennesaw State University where she is majoring in communications and appearing on the Dean's List; and

WHEREAS, Kandice is active in community service, promoting her platform of youth motivation by being actively involved in community and state speaking engagements and working with youth groups to encourage them to reach for their goals; and

WHEREAS, a talented dancer, Kandice has trained with the Georgia Ballet, the Atlanta Ballet, Dance Centre Arts, Centre Stage School of Dance, and Broadway Dance Center and she has performed in the Radio City Rockette Annual Christmas Show at the Grand Ol' Opry House in Nashville, Tennessee and has been a member of the production cast of Royal Carribean Cruise lines and she has used that experience as a dance instructor and choreographer; and

WHEREAS, she was the Senior Ms. Dynamics National Talent winner, with a background in television and film, industrial shows, and runway and print modeling; and

WHEREAS, by her accomplishments, her poise, and her grace, Kandice has brought credit to her parents, Jody and Chris Pelletier , who are very proud of her; to her community, which cheers her on as she competes in the Miss Georgia Pageant; and to her state, which basks in her successes; and
WHEREAS, all Georgians should be proud of young women such as Miss Pelletier because they represent the very best that this state has to offer.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body congratulate Kandice Pelletier on becoming Miss Cobb County 2002 and wish her every success as she continues her competition in the Miss America Organization.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Kandice Pelletier, Miss Cobb County 2002.
