Senate Resolution
69

A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending Bishop Gus Kilgore, Jr.; and for
other purposes.
WHEREAS, Bishop Gus Kilgore, Jr.,
is the distinguished pastor of the New Life Outreach Christian Center in
Eatonton, Georgia, where he has been a dynamic spiritual leader and a
significant voice in the community; and
WHEREAS, he
was born to Mr. and Mrs. Gus Kilgore on January 27, 1949, and grew up in Fort
Valley, Georgia, where he graduated from Bruce Street High School and received a
football scholarship from Fort Valley State College;
and
WHEREAS, on June 9, 1968, he married Joann
Stanford and together they raised three sons and one daughter as he pursued his
call into the ministry; and
WHEREAS, this very
charismatic preacher has traveled throughout the nation and overseas teaching
the Christian principles and beliefs and inviting people to join him in his
faith; and
WHEREAS, under his leadership, a new
sanctuary has been completed in Eatonton and the church has grown to include
over 200 members who contribute their talent and time to the special outreach
programs and services offered by this great congregation;
and
WHEREAS, the dedication and commitment of this
marvelous spiritual leader has touched the lives of countless families and
individuals and brought hope, peace, and love to
many.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE
that the members of this body recognize and commend Bishop Gus Kilgore, Jr., for
25 years of service as a religious leader and for his significant contributions
to the community of Eatonton, Georgia.
BE IT
FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to
transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Bishop Gus Kilgore, Jr.
