Senate Resolution 75

A RESOLUTION

Commending Brent Loeffler, recipient of the Montford-Lynn Award for Peace Officer of the Year 2000; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Investigator Brent Loeffler of the Decatur County Sheriff's Office has been selected to receive the Montford-Lynn Award for Peace Officer of the Year 2000; and

WHEREAS, he has been in law enforcement since 1992, having previously worked in the investigative division of the DeKalb County District Attorney's Office in Decatur and the Bainbridge Public Safety Department; and

WHEREAS, he is a graduate of Bainbridge High School and the University of Georgia and received his bachelor's degree in criminal justice; and

WHEREAS, he currently serves not only as a crime scene investigator but also as a D.A.R.E. officer; and

WHEREAS, his dedication to his duties provides peace of minds to his fellow citizens, who know that, as a professional, he will investigate each crime scene thoroughly and with integrity; and

WHEREAS, it is only fitting and proper that this fine public servant be recognized by this body for his dedication to the people of his county.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body commend Brent Loeffler for his achievements and contributions to the welfare of this state and express their appreciation for his hard work and diligence.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Brent Loeffler.
