Senate Resolution
82

A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending Harrison A. Neal; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS, Harrison A. Neal of Fernandina
Beach, Florida, is a brilliant young scholar who has excelled in his academic
achievements beyond all expectations as a fifth grade student in the public
education system of Nassau County; and
WHEREAS, he
participates in the gifted program at his school and is encouraged to progress
at his own pace, and recent evaluations determined that he has completed the
entire gifted curriculum through high school and that his math, science, and
reading comprehension are estimated as equivalent to the post high school grade
level; and
WHEREAS,
Johns Hopkins University has been monitoring Harrison since he entered the 2nd
grade, and his extraordinary performance continues to attract their interest in
him while his dedicated teachers and family strive to offer new challenges and
interests for him; and
WHEREAS, his tremendous
ability, motivation, and discipline reflect honor and credit on his devoted
parents, Don and Linda Neal, family, school, and community;
and
WHEREAS, it is most fitting and appropriate
that students who have exhibited such keen intellectual ability and commitment
be properly recognized for their performance and their leadership and be
encouraged in their quest for understanding and
truth.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE
that the members of this body recognize and commend Harrison A. Neal on his
superb scholastic attainments and vast interests and convey to him their
congratulations and best wishes in his future
pursuits.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary
of the Senate is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this
resolution to Harrison A. Neal.
