Senate Resolution

By: Senators Thompson of the 33rd,
Tanksley of the 32nd and Lamutt of the 21st
A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending Dr. Kenneth R. Allen; and for
other purposes.
WHEREAS, Dr. Kenneth R. Allen has
served the State of Georgia and the citizens of Cobb and Bartow counties for 33
years as a dedicated educator who has held positions as a classroom teacher,
vocational supervisor, professor, and president;
and
WHEREAS, he has been a committed advocate and
proponent of technical education and has been a leader in the efforts to develop
excellent programs for Georgians seeking training in applied fields as adult
members of the work force; and
WHEREAS, he has
faithfully served as the founding president of North Metro Technical College for
the last 15 years; and
WHEREAS, he provided the
vision for the Cobb Education Consortium which has presented seamless
educational options for all students and strengthened career development for the
faculty and staff; and
WHEREAS, he has given
unselfishly of his time as a mentor to others, and the considerable
accomplishments of this influential educator will be forever remembered by his
colleagues and countless Georgians whose futures are brighter because of his
leadership.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
SENATE that the members of this body recognize and commend Dr. Kenneth R. Allen
for his progressive educational initiatives that will impact the lives of
Georgians for years to come and convey to him their heartiest best wishes on his
retirement.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the
Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate
copy of this resolution to Dr. Kenneth R. Allen.
