Congratulating the Northgate High School Varsity Wrestling Team; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, the Northgate High School Varsity Wrestling Team won the 2002 Class AA wrestling state championship and the school's first state athletic title and brought fame and honor to the school, team, coaches, parents, and the community of Newnan, Georgia; and

WHEREAS, these terrific wrestlers won the team title as State Dual Meet Champions and won the State Open Tournament Runner-up position for individual wrestlers; and

WHEREAS, these extraordinary athletes have trained and mastered the detailed maneuvers critical to winning a match and excelled in their strength, stamina, and control; and

WHEREAS, their tremendous ability, strategy, and timing reflect the considerable experience, motivation, and direction they have received from their very able coach Adrian Anderson who has been with the school for six productive years since it opened; and

WHEREAS, the personal determination, industry, and discipline of these young men are a credit to their families, school, and community and they will cherish these memories forever.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body congratulate the Northgate High School Varsity Wrestling Team on their superlative season as state champions and convey to the team and Coach Anderson their best wishes.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Coach Adrian Anderson.
