A RESOLUTION
Supporting the United States of America against barbaric
acts of terrorist aggression; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS, parties unknown have, on
September 11, 2001, committed horrific and unprecedented acts of violence and
aggression against our country and our people, causing the loss of thousands of
innocent lives and untold damage; and
WHEREAS,
these despicable acts bring us to sorrow and mourning, but will also serve to
unite the people of our great nation in an unswerving determination to scourge
these villains and their evil from the face of the Earth;
and
WHEREAS, our President, our Congress, and our
military forces should, and undoubtedly will, show no hesitation in using all
appropriate force and power to respond to these acts of war against our
country.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
SENATE that this body hereby urges, and pledges its undivided and wholehearted
support for, all actions necessary and appropriate in the United States of
America's response to these barbaric acts of terroristic aggression against our
nation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary
of the Senate is authorized and directed to transmit appropriate copies of this
resolution to the President and the Congress of the United States of America.
