A RESOLUTION

Honoring Suffragan Bishop Nealon Guthrie; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Suffragan Bishop Nealon Guthrie will be honored and recognized on November 3, 2001, for his outstanding work and leadership in serving the Lord; and

WHEREAS, Suffragan Bishop Guthrie has been married to Evangelist Laura Guthrie for 49 years and has seven children and 25 grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, Bishop Guthrie was elevated to Suffragan Bishop in 1994 and has served on the Georgia State Council, the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, Inc., the Aenon Bible College, and is a Board Member of the International Foreign Mission; and

WHEREAS, he is currently the Suffragan Bishop of the 30th Episcopal District, Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, Inc., and Pastor of the Greater Christ Temple Rapture Preparation Cathedral in Rome, Georgia.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that this body expresses its deep appreciation for the outstanding work that Suffragan Bishop Guthrie has done and expresses its best wishes for his continued effort in the service that he has given.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Suffragan Bishop Nealon Guthrie.
