Senate Resolution 7EX2

A RESOLUTION

Commending Dr. Paul C. Ajamian; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Dr. Paul C. Ajamian has recently completed an outstanding year as president of the Georgia Optometric Association; and

WHEREAS, he is a graduate of the University of Vermont and the New England College of Optometry, completed a fellowship at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, and served as coordinator and clinical instructor at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, as a clinical investigator with the National Eye Institute, as a director of the Vision Educational Foundation & Diagnostic Center, and as center director of Omni Eye Services of Atlanta; and

WHEREAS, he has served as an adjunct faculty member at New England College of Optometry, Indiana University School of Optometry, Pennsylvania College of Optometry, Southern College of Optometry, State University of New York College of Optometry, University of Alabama in Birmingham School of Optometry, University of Waterloo, and University of California at Berkeley; and

WHEREAS, he is a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and served as chairman of the AOA Task Force on Radial Keratotomy, president of the 5th District Optometric Society, and editorial board member of the Southern Journal of Optometry; and

WHEREAS, he is the author of several textbooks and numerous articles in optometric literature and was selected as Georgia Optometric Association O. D. of the Year for 1993-94 and as Southern Council Optometrist of the South in 1995.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body recognize and commend Dr. Paul C. Ajamian for his many years of dedicated service to the citizens of Georgia and for his outstanding tenure as president of the Georgia Optometric Association.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Dr. Paul C. Ajamian.
