Senate Resolution
9EX2

A RESOLUTION
Commending Snyder Turner; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS, Snyder Turner of Kennesaw,
Georgia, is a distinguished civic leader in Cobb County where he is well known
and highly respected for his contributions to improve the quality of life for
his fellow citizens and his efforts to strengthen the community;
and
WHEREAS, he is an active member of the Georgia
Bar Association where he has been a member since 1979, received honorary
Doctorates from Antioch Bible College and from the Messianic School of Theology,
and serves the Pastor of Calvary Baptist Church;
and
WHEREAS, he has been the chief administrator of
Calvary Baptist Children's Home since 1971 and has been instrumental in
directing the goals and accomplishments of this very special shelter for
children located on 13 acres in Powder Springs, Georgia;
and
WHEREAS, his dedication, knowledge, and
commitment to the needs of children have been recognized by numerous
organizations and agencies, and he was named one of Atlanta's "One Hundred
Pacesetters," WSB-TV's "People in Action," and Man of the Year by the Smyrna
Jaycees; and
WHEREAS, this spiritual leader has
made a substantial contribution to the lives of countless young people and
provided comfort and hope to children and families throughout his community, and
it is most fitting and proper that his service and good will be properly
recognized and honored.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT
RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body recognize and commend
Snyder Turner for his exceptional community
service.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary
of the Senate is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this
resolution to Snyder Turner.
