A BILL TO BE
ENTITLED
AN ACT
AN ACT
To amend Article 1 of Chapter 18 of Title 45 of the Official
Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to the state
employees´
health insurance plan, so as to authorize the Board of Community Health to
contract with any agricultural commodity commission created pursuant to Chapter
8 of Title 2 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated to provide for the
inclusion in such plan of any such
commission´s
employees and retiring employees and their spouses and dependents; to provide
for terms and conditions of such coverage and inclusion; to repeal conflicting
laws; and for other purposes.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
GEORGIA:
SECTION 1.
Article 1 of Chapter 18 of Title 45 of the Official Code of
Georgia Annotated, relating to the state
employees´
health insurance plan, is amended by adding, following Code Section 45-18-7.7, a
new Code Section 45-18-7.8 to read as
follows:
"45-18-7.8.
The board is authorized to contract with any agricultural commodity commission created pursuant to Chapter 8 of Title 2 for the inclusion in any health insurance plan or plans established under this article of the employees and retiring employees of any such commodity commission and their spouses and dependent children, as defined by the regulations of the board. It shall be the duty of the agricultural commodity commission to deduct from the salary or other remuneration or otherwise to collect such payment from its qualified employees, retired employees, or dependents as may be required under the board´s regulations. In addition, it shall be the duty of the agricultural commodity commission to make the employer contributions required for the operation of such plan or plans."

SECTION 2.
All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are
repealed.
