A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT

To amend Chapter 1 of Title 50 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to general provisions relative to state government, so as to authorize the display of the Ten Commandments of Jewish tradition as a part of a display of historical documents in public offices and schools; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:

SECTION 1.
Chapter 1 of Title 50 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to general provisions relative to state government, is amended by inserting at the end thereof the following:
"50-1-8.
Every state agency and authority, every political subdivision of the state, and every local board of education may include the Ten Commandments of Jewish tradition taken from any version of Jewish or Christian scriptures as a part of a display of documents of established historical importance to the culture and laws of our state, including, without limitation, the Declaration of Independence, the Code of Hammurabi, the federal and state constitutions, the Magna Carta, and the Mayflower Compact."

SECTION 2.
All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
