A RESOLUTION

Commending Rev. Jack Hudson; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Rev. Jack Hudson has spent more than 50 years of continuous service in ministry for his Lord, all of which has been in the Southeastern United States; and

WHEREAS, he grew up in Guyton and is a graduate of Guyton High School, Johnson Bible College (A.B.), and Candler School of Theology at Emory University (M. Div.); and

WHEREAS, he was ordained at Guyton Christian Church in 1953 and retired from the same church in 1998; and

WHEREAS, he has relocated to the Savannah area and continues to be involved in pulpit supply, speaking to civic clubs, weddings, and funerals; and

WHEREAS, in 2001, he married the former Ann Womble of Savannah; and

WHEREAS, a reception was held on August 17, 2003, at Guyton Christian Church to celebrate and reminisce upon his 50 years of ministry; and

WHEREAS, it is only fitting and proper that he be recognized by this body.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body congratulate and commend Rev. Jack Hudson for his 50 years of service in ministry and wish him many happy returns.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Rev. Jack Hudson.
