A RESOLUTION

Commending Johnathan N. Haley as the winner of the 2002 Georgia Occupational Award of Leadership and inviting him to appear before this body; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Johnathan N. Haley is the proud winner of the 2002 Georgia Occupational Award of Leadership from the Georgia Department of Technical and Adult Education, chosen from the 38 local technical colleges to serve as an ambassador for technical education; and

WHEREAS, the Georgia Occupational Award of Leadership (GOAL) program is the first program of its type in the nation to honor outstanding students in postsecondary technical colleges, spotlights the vital impact of technical education on Georgia´s workforce, and emphasizes the dignity of work and personal achievement; and

WHEREAS, the GOAL program is an excellent example of a true partnership among business, industry, and education; and this student in the associate degree of nursing program at Athens Technical College has brought honor to himself, his family, and the college; and

WHEREAS, as the GOAL winner, Johnathan N. Haley is a spokesperson for technical education and will publicly promote Georgia´s superb system of technical colleges.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body congratulate Johnathan N. Haley for his outstanding achievements and invite him to appear before this body at a time designated by the Speaker of the House of Representatives to convey to him their best wishes for success in his future endeavors.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Johnathan N. Haley.
