House Resolution
1146 By: Representatives Day of the 126th,
Bordeaux of the 125th, Jackson of the 124th, Post 1,
Stephens of the 123rd, and Purcell of the 122nd
A RESOLUTION
Commending Oglethorpe Charter School; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS, Oglethorpe Charter School is
Georgia's first start-up middle school;
and
WHEREAS, the school educates students in an
environment which promotes academic excellence and strong moral character;
and
WHEREAS, Oglethorpe Charter School has recently
been named one of the eight best charter schools in the country by the United
States Department of Education Office of Innovation and Improvement;
and
WHEREAS, this prestigious recognition is vivid
validation of the school's innovative program, curriculum, and practices;
and
WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper
that the outstanding accomplishments of this superlative school be recognized
appropriately.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY
THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend the
Oglethorpe Charter School on its outstanding dedication and commitment to
excellence in education and congratulate it upon being named one of the eight
best charter schools in the nation.
BE IT FURTHER
RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and
directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the principal of
Oglethorpe Charter School.
