A RESOLUTION
Commending Erin A. Mordecai; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, Erin A. Mordecai has compiled an extraordinary list of accomplishments at Eagle´s Landing High School in Henry County, Georgia; and
WHEREAS, this superlative scholar has received numerous awards and recognitions for her achievements including class Valedictorian, Senior Superlative award of "Most Intellectual," and Governor´s Honors Program for Communicative Arts; and
WHEREAS, this energetic and dynamic individual has also selflessly devoted her time, talent, and energy toward the betterment of her school and community as dramatically evidenced by her service as captain of the cross-country team, president of the math team, and historian of the National Honor Society; a member of the track team, Beta Club, Science Olympiad, and Literary Society; and as a volunteer at In His Name Food Pantry, Blessings Women´s Shelter, and Dogwood Forest Assisted Living Home; and
WHEREAS, as a fitting culmination to her incredible career, she has been named as the 2003 Henry County STAR Student; and
WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper to recognize appropriately the accomplishments and successes of such an extraordinary and talented individual.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body heartily commend Erin A. Mordecai for her outstanding commitment to excellence in her scholastic endeavors and spirited public service, and congratulate her upon being named 2003 Henry County STAR Student.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Erin A. Mordecai.
