House Resolution

A RESOLUTION
Commending the seniors of the Gainesville High School Red
Elephants baseball team; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS, the Gainesville High School Red
Elephants baseball team finished another excellent season in 2002, as it
competed in the Class AAA championship series;
and
WHEREAS,
senior superlatives John Carroll, Steven Cornett, Peter Hughes, Micah Owings,
Logan Ripley, Clay Sanders, Bryan Van Bavel, and Jeff Williams demonstrated
their outstanding talent, drive, discipline, and teamwork throughout a long
season, much to the delight of the parents, coaches, and
community, and prompted Coach Wayne Vickery to call the crop "the most talented
group I've had in my 14 years here"; and
WHEREAS,
the hard work, determination, and competitive spirit
of the exceptional seniors contributed to
the success of the Red Elephants, significantly influenced
the personal development of the players, and offered them memories they will
cherish for a lifetime; and
WHEREAS, all of these
players have benefitted greatly from the expert training and encouragement
provided by Coach Wayne Vickery.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE
IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body
commend the seniors of the Gainesville High School Red Elephants baseball team
and offer heartfelt congratulations to the team and the coach for another
remarkable season.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the
Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an
appropriate copy of this resolution to Coach Wayne Vickery.
