A RESOLUTION
Recognizing the Future Farmers of America
Organization´s
75th anniversary and saluting its members; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS, Future Farmers of America (FFA) was founded in 1928; and
WHEREAS, FFA brings together students, teachers, and agribusiness to solidify support for agricultural education; and
WHEREAS, millions of agriculture students have donned the official FFA jacket and championed the FFA creed; and
WHEREAS, FFA has opened its doors and its arms to minorities and women, ensuring that all students can reap the benefits of agricultural education; and
WHEREAS, FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth, and career success through agricultural education; and
WHEREAS, FFA increases awareness of the global and technological importance of agriculture and its contribution to our well-being; and
WHEREAS, FFA promotes the intelligent choice and establishment of an agricultural career; and
WHEREAS, FFA encourages wise management of economic, environmental, and human resources of the community; and
WHEREAS, FFA develops interpersonal skills in teamwork, communications, human relations, and social interaction; and
WHEREAS, FFA builds character and promotes citizenship, volunteerism, and patriotism; and
WHEREAS, FFA promotes healthy lifestyles and excellence in scholarship; and
WHEREAS, the organization is expanding the nation´s view of "traditional" agriculture and finding new ways to infuse agriculture into the classroom.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize the many valuable contributions of the FFA and salute each chapter and each member on the 75th anniversary of the organization.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to each chapter of the Georgia FFA.
