House Resolution

A RESOLUTION
Expressing deep regret at the passing of Ellen Gilreath
Carmack; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, on
January 22, 2003, the State of Georgia lost one of its most exemplary and
beloved citizens with the untimely passing of Ellen Gilreath Carmack;
and
WHEREAS, she was a long-time resident of
Gwinnett County and a teacher in the Gwinnett County schools, having graduated
from Central Gwinnett High School in 1988, and North Georgia College in 1992;
and
WHEREAS, for three years she served as the
liaison coordinator for the moral and civic concerns ministry of Hebron Baptist
Church in Dacula where she could always be counted on to make calls and write
letters on important moral issues; and
WHEREAS,
this outstanding Christian woman believed it was important to vote in every
election and would do so by absentee ballot when she was not physically able to
get to the polls; and
WHEREAS, she was a devoted
and loving wife to her husband, John, and a dedicated and loving mother to her
son, Jacob; and
WHEREAS, the untimely passing of
this generous, kind, and respected lady leaves a void in the hearts and lives of
her family and friends.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT
RESOLVED that the members of the House of Representatives express their deepest
and most sincere regret at the passing of Ellen Gilreath
Carmack.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of
the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an
appropriate copy of this resolution to the family of Ellen Gilreath Carmack.
