A RESOLUTION
Commending the Gresham Park 12 Year Old Tigers baseball
team; inviting the coaches and players to appear before the House of
Representatives; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
the Gresham Park 12 Year Old Tigers of the Gresham Park Baseball and Softball
Association completed an ultrasuccessful season of baseball competition, winning
the American Amateur Baseball Congress Pee Wee Reese World Series on August 4,
2002, in Toa Baja, Puerto Rico; and
WHEREAS, team
members Xavier Avery, Brian Belcher, Lamar Brown, Desmond Dennis, Bobby Fair,
Rannie Fore, Jeffery Fulks, Kendrick Hamm, George Harris, Deonta Lewis, Chris
Mays, Cedric McGhee, Timothy Patterson, Derico Smith, and Donald Whimpey
performed with precision during the season and earned this team its well
deserved reputation for the quality of its play and the stiff competition which
it presented its opponents; and
WHEREAS, all of
these players benefitted greatly from the expert training and encouragement
provided by Manager Damarco Robinson and Coaches Malcolm Fulks, Willie Wilder,
Mike Terrell, and Mike Burton.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE
IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body
commend the Gresham Park 12 Year Old Tigers for their unparalleled achievements
and extend their best wishes for continued success in the
future.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the coaches and
players of the Gresham Park 12 Year Old Tigers baseball team are invited to
appear before the House of Representatives on a day and at a time designated by
the Speaker of the House of Representatives.
BE IT
FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Manager
Damarco Robinson and Coaches Malcolm Fulks, Willie Wilder, Mike Terrell, and
Mike Burton.
