A RESOLUTION

Congratulating Amy Mulkey, Miss Georgia 2002; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, the beautiful, intelligent, and talented Amy Mulkey was selected as Miss Georgia 2002 and competed in the Miss America pageant in September, 2002; and

WHEREAS, a brilliant scholar who graduated from the University of Georgia in 2001 with a 4.0 grade point average, Amy received numerous awards including Business Senior of the Year, All_Academic Team honors, Foundation Fellow, Phi Kappa Phi, Presidential Scholar and was elected as a member of the Homecoming Court; and

WHEREAS, Amy was also active in the Georgia Mentoring Partnership, Big Brothers_Big Sisters, Blue Key national honor society, and was President of Phi Mu sorority, the Panhellenic Council, and Omicron Delta Kappa leadership council; and

WHEREAS, Amy´s platform during her reign as Miss Georgia was mentoring youth, further demonstrating her dedication and concern for the young people of this state; and

WHEREAS, by her many achievements, grace, and poise, Amy has brought credit to her parents, George and Diane Mulkey, and to her community and state; and all Georgians are proud of young women who, like Miss Mulkey, represent the very best that this state has to offer.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body congratulate Amy Mulkey on being selected Miss Georgia 2002 and wish her every success in the future.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Amy Mulkey, Miss Georgia 2002.
