A RESOLUTION
Commending the North Georgia College and State University
Lady Saints basketball team; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS, the North Georgia College and State University Lady Saints basketball team has established a proud tradition of excellence in women's basketball; and
WHEREAS, the superlative 2003-2004 team completed another successful season of basketball competition, posting a fantastic record of 30 wins and 6 losses, and finished in the Elite Eight at the 2004 National Tournament; and
WHEREAS, the Lady Saints ranked 8th in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics; were the 2003-2004 regular season champions; and were the 2004 Georgia-Alabama-Carolina Conference Tournament Champions for the third consecutive year; and
WHEREAS, the phenomenal performance of the team is a clear indication of the outstanding athletic ability, the dedication and hard work, and the unity of purpose and spirit of team members; their superb offensive and defensive talents; and the astute direction of Head Coach Buffie Burson.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend the North Georgia College and State University Lady Saints basketball team for its inspiring performance and remarkable achievements and extend their sincerest best wishes for continued success in the future.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Head Coach Buffie Burson.
