A RESOLUTION

Recognizing 4-H Day at the state capitol and inviting Cole Ryles, Dr. Roger C. (Bo) Ryles, and Dr. Gale A. Buchanan to appear before the House of Representatives; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, 4-H provides a unique educational opportunity for students from nine to 19 years of age to learn valuable lessons outside the classroom and offers some 55 areas in which students can compete with one another for college scholarships; and

WHEREAS, Georgia´s 4-H programs are coordinated by the Cooperative Extension Service of the University of Georgia College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, and this service is the major university outreach program focusing on the youth of this state; and

WHEREAS, Cole Ryles of Oconee County is serving with distinction and ability as State 4-H President; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Roger C. (Bo) Ryles of the Cooperative Extension Service has worked diligently with the 4-H Clubs throughout Georgia during his tenure as State 4-H Club leader; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Gale A. Buchanan serves with distinction and ability as dean of the College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences of the University of Georgia; and

WHEREAS, 4-H day at the state capitol is a way for the State of Georgia to recognize the outstanding opportunities which 4-H programs provide.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize 4-H Day at the state capitol on such date to be determined by the Speaker of the House of Representatives and Cole Ryles, Dr. Roger C. (Bo) Ryles, and Dr. Gale A. Buchanan are invited to appear before the House of Representatives on 4-H Day at the state capitol at a time to be designated by the Speaker of the House of Representatives.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit appropriate copies of this resolution to Cole Ryles, Dr. Roger C. (Bo) Ryles, and Dr. Gale A. Buchanan.
