A RESOLUTION
Commending and congratulating Ruth Johnson and inviting her
to appear before the House of Representatives; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS, Ruth Johnson, library media specialist at Bouie Elementary Theme School, has been selected as DeKalb County's 2003 Library Media Specialist of the Year; and
WHEREAS, Ruth Johnson is a 24-year veteran of the DeKalb County school system and is a role model for her profession in the areas of teaching and learning, information access and delivery, and program administration; and
WHEREAS, her many professional activities and accomplishments include Bouie's Teacher of the Year for 2001, DeKalb ProCorp member since 2000, Educating Computer Specialist 1988-1999, Chairperson of Bouie's spelling bee 1996-2001, and member of the Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl Steering Committee since 1999; and
WHEREAS, Ruth Johnson's motto, "Service with a smile," is another example of her positive attitude, outstanding dedication, and refreshing enthusiasm for her profession.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body do hereby commend and congratulate Ruth Johnson, DeKalb County's 2003 Library Media Specialist of the Year, and express their sincere appreciation for her many years of outstanding dedication to education in the State of Georgia.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Ruth Johnson is invited to appear before the House of Representatives at a date and time to be determined by the Speaker of the House of Representatives.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Ruth Johnson.
