House Resolution
33 By: Representatives Reece of the 11th,
Snow of the 1st, Ray of the 108th, Purcell of the
122nd and James of the 114th
A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending Bill Baisley; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS, Bill Baisley is a well-known and
highly respected Georgia agribusinessman who has been a key leader in the
development and growth of Georgia’s poultry and egg industry and its
national status as a premier producer of quality poultry commodities;
and
WHEREAS, his knowledge and understanding of
poultry production, business acumen, and keen vision of the industry’s
future were recognized by his peers, and he has ably served as President of the
Georgia Poultry Federation; Chairman of the Georgia Poultry Improvement
Association; President of the Dixie Poultry Exposition; First Vice Chairman of
the Georgia Agribusiness Council; Director of the National Chicken Council; and
Vice President and Director of the U.S. Poultry and Egg Association;
and
WHEREAS, he serves on the Advisory Board of the
Georgia Poultry Market News; is the poultry representative on the
Executive Committee of the U.S. Animal Health Association; and is an active
member and former president of Civitan, Sertoma, and Rotary Clubs;
and
WHEREAS, in addition to his sterling career as
Vice President of Peterson Farms, Bill has been president of the Mental Health
Association; president of the John W. Looper Speech & Hearing Clinic;
president of the local PTA; and a devoted member of the Baptist Church where he
has been a Deacon, Mission Leader, and Sunday School
Director.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize and commend
Bill Baisley for his lifetime of leadership, service, and achievement for the
poultry industry and his superb public service for Georgians and convey their
appreciation and best wishes on the momentous occasion of his
retirement.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk
of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an
appropriate copy of this resolution to Bill Baisley.
