House Resolution
38 By: Representatives Rogers of the 20th,
Mills of the 67th, Post 2, Reece of the 21st and Amerson
of the 9th
A RESOLUTION
Expressing regret at the passing of Don Waldrip; and for
other purposes.
WHEREAS, Don Waldrip was a
well-known and highly respected businessman in the Gainesville, Georgia
community where he was an active citizen and valued civic leader whose many
involvements shaped the quality of life for countless others;
and
WHEREAS, he was a native of Hall County and his
parents, Mary Martin and James R. Waldrip, instilled in him a firm foundation of
principles and values that shaped his business and personal life and instilled
in him a commitment to serve the larger community;
and
WHEREAS, he graduated from Dawson County High
School and pursued his interests in business where he became the proud owner and
operator of Georgia Printing Company and was the former owner of the Dawson
County Advertiser in Dawsonville and of West Hall Sports Cards;
and
WHEREAS, in addition to his career, he was a
dedicated member of Lanier Hills Church and an active Gideon, and he faithfully
supported the various programs and projects his church offered to its
congregation and the Gainesville community;
and
WHEREAS, the life and contributions of Don
Waldrip will be long remembered by his wide circle of friends and associates and
serve as a model for others to follow.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body express regret at the passing of Don Waldrip and convey their
sincerest sympathy to the members of his beloved
family.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of
the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an
appropriate copy of this resolution to the Waldrip family.
