A RESOLUTION
Commending MacKenzie Crane; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, MacKenzie Crane of Woodward Academy has
been selected as the 2002 Gatorade Georgia High School Volleyball Player of the
Year; and
WHEREAS, this honor, which is based upon
athletic prowess, academic achievement, and overall character, recognizes the
example of personal and team accomplishments that MacKenzie Crane has set for
her fellow students; and
WHEREAS, this remarkable
athlete and scholar has earned distinction through her remarkable achievements
at Woodward Academy as a member of the Excel Club and the Camerata Singers, as a
peer leader, and as a member of the volleyball team, earning an all state
selection four straight years and selection this past year as the AAAA player of
the year; and
WHEREAS, she maintains a 3.4 GPA with
a 1,350 SAT; and
WHEREAS, she has personified the
selfless dedication, physical and mental agility, and personal maturity
necessary for superlative athletic and academic performance;
and
WHEREAS, in a world which seems to accentuate
consistently the negative aspects of young people, it is abundantly fitting and
proper for this body to honor the extraordinary accomplishments, intellectual
acumen, and unsurpassed commitment to excellence of such an outstanding
individual.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body heartily commend
MacKenzie Crane for her spectacular athletic and scholastic endeavors and
express to her their sincerest best wishes for continued success in the
future. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the
House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate
copy of this resolution to MacKenzie Crane.
