A RESOLUTION
Commending Luther Elton Jones II; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, on February 9, 2003, Luther Elton Jones
II of Boy Scout Troop 350 attained the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest
recognition conferred by the Boy Scouts of America;
and
WHEREAS, a candidate for this award in scouting
must complete a rigorous program of training and demonstrate his proficiency in
selected scouting techniques; and
WHEREAS, very few
young men in scouting ever reach this lofty level of achievement and meet the
standards of excellence demanded of candidates for the Eagle rank;
and
WHEREAS, he has ably demonstrated his aptitude
and competency in mastering the various special skills imparted through the Boy
Scout program, passed his Eagle Board of review, and completed a substantial
community service project in Manor, Georgia;
and
WHEREAS, this outstanding young man has truly
exhibited a commitment to the scouting principles of honesty, fairness, and
service to the community and has consistently conducted himself in a manner
becoming an Eagle Scout; and
WHEREAS, it is
abundantly fitting and proper for this body to recognize the outstanding
accomplishments of this very dedicated Eagle Scout and convey best wishes for
his future.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend Luther Elton
Jones II for his diligence and dedication in pursuing the highest honor awarded
by the Boy Scouts of America and congratulate him on attaining the prestigious
rank of Eagle Scout.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that
the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit
an appropriate copy of this resolution to Luther Elton Jones II.
