House Resolution

A RESOLUTION
Honoring Carolyn M. Ainslie; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS, Carolyn Ainslie has served
Morgan County as County Extension Agent for Family and Consumer Sciences from
January 2, 1974, to December 31, 2002, and most recently as County Extension
Coordinator and Senior Public Service Associate, her dedication and time spent
on behalf of Morgan County citizens being the epitome of a public servant;
and
WHEREAS, she initiated the first Leadership
Morgan County to teach and provide leadership skills to the citizens of Morgan
County to help them better govern themselves and to be more informed citizens of
the community; and
WHEREAS, she has distinguished
herself among her peers as evidenced by being elected president of the Georgia
Extension Association of Family and Consumer Sciences and receiving national
recognition from the National Extension Association of Family and Consumer
Sciences by receiving the Distinguished Service Award, the Florence Hall Award
for Innovative Programming, the J. C. Penney Fellow, the Continued Excellence
Award, and the Outstanding Family and Consumer Sciences Educator of the Year
Award; and
WHEREAS, she was the first County
Extension Agent to be recognized for her outstanding public service in extension
outreach by receiving the Walter B. Hill Award from the University of Georgia,
and also received the D. W. Brooks County Extension Agent Award of Excellence
and the Outreach Award for County Extension Agent from the College of Family and
Consumer Sciences; and
WHEREAS, she has helped to
improve the health of the residents of the Lake Oconee area through classes
taught in ServSafe and Walk-A-Weigh as well as continuing diabetes education;
and
WHEREAS, she has served the community as
president of the Madison-Morgan County Chamber of Commerce, as chairman of the
Madison First United Methodist Church Council, as chairman of the Downtown
Business Council, and as a member of numerous academic and athletic booster
clubs; and
WHEREAS, Carolyn Ainslie is a loving
mother and wife, making many sacrifices to ensure that the county operates
smoothly; and
WHEREAS, she has been friend,
companion, and great listener who has appreciably helped citizens with her
counsel and advice; and
WHEREAS, Carolyn
Ainslie´s
total dedication to work has contributed greatly to the desirability of Morgan
County as a place to live; and
WHEREAS, it is only
fitting and proper that the citizens of Georgia thank Mrs. Ainslie for her
dedication, hard work, and desire to make Georgia a better place to live and
work.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE
OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body honor Carolyn Ainslie as an
outstanding citizen and convey their immense appreciation for her service to
Morgan County and to the State of Georgia.
BE IT
FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Carolyn M.
Ainslie.
