A RESOLUTION

Commending Phillip E. King of Effingham County; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Phillip E. King served with honor and distinction as chairman of the Board of Commissioners of Effingham County from 1999 through 2002; and

WHEREAS, he served in like manner as vice-chairman of the board of commissioners in 1997 and 1998 and as a member of the board in 1995 and 1996; and

WHEREAS, he also rendered valuable public service as a member of the health and human services policy committee of the Associated County Commissioners of Georgia, chairman of the health board, and liaison commissioner for several Effingham County departments; and

WHEREAS, he also played an instrumental role in the development of a new state prison and Georgia State Patrol post; and

WHEREAS, it is only fitting and proper that he be recognized by this body.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend Phillip E. King of Effingham County for his record of public service and his many contributions to the welfare of his community and this state.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Phillip E. King.
