House Resolution
76 By: Representative Purcell of the 122nd
A RESOLUTION
Commending Stephen Mack Thompson of Effingham County; and
for other purposes.
WHEREAS, Stephen Mack Thompson
served with honor and distinction as a member of the Board of Commissioners of
Effingham County from 1999 through 2002;
and
WHEREAS, he also served in like manner as a
member of the board of the Coastal Georgia Regional Development Center;
and
WHEREAS, he rendered valuable public service as
county commissioner liaison to the hospital authority; liaison commissioner for
several county departments; member of the committee to build a new prison, which
was completed in 2001; and member of the committee to build a new Georgia State
Patrol facility, which was completed in 2001;
and
WHEREAS, he has also served his community not
only through playing an instrumental role in major improvements to the local
road system and recreational opportunities but also through numerous other civic
activities; and
WHEREAS, it is only fitting and
proper that he be recognized by this body.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body commend Stephen Mack Thompson of Effingham County for his record of
public service and his many contributions to the welfare of his community and
this state.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk
of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an
appropriate copy of this resolution to Stephen Mack Thompson.
