A RESOLUTION

Honoring the memory of Annette Howell Turner; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, the Annette Howell Turner Center for the Arts is being dedicated on April 29, 2003; and

WHEREAS, Annette Howell Turner was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend; and

WHEREAS, she and her husband, Loyce, were the devoted parents of three children, Sally, Susan, and Warren, whom they lovingly raised, encouraged, and supported and whom they were preeminently proud as they each grew and matured and achieved their goals; and

WHEREAS, she supplied "grandmotherly" wisdom and love for a lifetime to her gracious grandchildren, Holly, Jessie, Katie, Caroline, and Loyce; and

WHEREAS, she steadfastly supported and assisted her husband as he ran a veterinary practice, operated a bank, farm, and other business endeavors, and campaigned for and served in the State Senate for the people of Georgia; and

WHEREAS, she proudly and continually conveyed her love of country, family, and friends, and always had a gentle smile and kind word for others; and

WHEREAS, she saw beauty in every aspect of life, including nature, people, and the arts and it is therefore highly befitting that an arts center is being named in her honor in order that her love of art can be preserved for generations to come.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that this body recognizes and honors the life of the late Annette Howell Turner and expresses its appreciation for her many contributions to her community and the State of Georgia.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the family of Annette Howell Turner.
