A RESOLUTION
Commending Jodi Dyer; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS, Jodi Dyer of Hart County, Georgia, is an exceptional student at Hart County High School and is the recipient of the 2003 STAR Student Award for excellence; and
WHEREAS, the Student Teacher Achievement Recognition (STAR) program was created to recognize Georgia's outstanding senior students and the STAR program is sponsored by the local Chamber of Commerce, Hartwell Rotary Club, and Kiwanis Club of Hartwell; and
WHEREAS, Jodi has attained a superior cumulative average while pursuing a rigorous high school curriculum, and her superb scholastic ability has been validated further by her outstanding performance on the SAT examination; and
WHEREAS, in addition to her excellent academic record, she has participated in numerous extracurricular activities where she has demonstrated her talent; and
WHEREAS, Joanne Ridgway, an English teacher for the advanced placement students, was named as her STAR Teacher in recognition of the enthusiasm, dedication, encouragement, and commitment that she provides to students; and
WHEREAS, the accomplishments of this STAR student confirm her superior ability, motivation, and discipline and reflect honor and credit on her family and the community.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that this body commends Jodi Dyer on being named the 2003 STAR Student from Hart County High School and conveys to her its best wishes in her future pursuits.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Jodi Dyer.
