A RESOLUTION

Recognizing the Lanier Soccer Association´s under-14 boys team, the Hotshots; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, in May, 2003, the Hotshots won the Georgia Youth Soccer Association´s State Recreational Cup in their dramatic final match held at George Pierce Park in Suwanee, Georgia; and

WHEREAS, the team finished with an astounding regular season record of 17-0-1 and a district and state tournament record of 8-0 and proved to be a dominating opponent with an overall undefeated record of 25-0-1; and

WHEREAS, its remarkable season leaves no uncertainty as to the team´s talent, ability, and skill on the playing field, and Hotshot players Zach Allman, Phillip Berglund, David Brew, Clayton Graybeal, Grey Hallock, Robert Jackson, Bill Lomax, Zach Murrow, Baynes Norton, Andrew Peck, Jason Pfister, Codi Powers, Chase Quinn, Eric Reyes, Josh Semon, Alex Tasich, Carlos Velasquez, and Chad Whitehead and their coaches Dave Allman and Ron Quinn give new meaning to the words "teamwork" and "champions."

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that this body recognizes Lanier Soccer Association´s Hotshots as the state´s preeminent under-14 boys soccer team and champions of the Georgia Youth Soccer Association´s State Recreational Cup.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the team and coaches.
