Senate Resolution
1078 By: Senator Seabaugh of the 28th
A RESOLUTION
Commending Mary Cronbaugh and recognizing and saluting her
great service to public education in the State of Georgia; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS, Mary Cronbaugh began her career
as a professional educator at a time when "Give 'em Hell" Harry S. Truman was
the President of the United States and the Honorable Herman E. Talmadge was
Governor of Georgia; and
WHEREAS, in 1950, over
one-half century ago, Mary Cronbaugh first stepped into a classroom as a Polo,
Missouri, teacher and she has practiced her chosen profession every year since;
and
WHEREAS, in her over 53 years as an educator,
she has taught school children in nine different schools, four American states,
and three sovereign countries; and
WHEREAS, she has
spent the past 34 years teaching at Newnan High School and has overseen classes
in the states of Missouri, Illinois, Idaho, and Georgia as well as Australia and
Papua New Guinea; and
WHEREAS, she is currently
instructing Newnan High School students in her trigonometry, algebra II, and
concepts of algebra classes.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT
RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body commend Mary Cronbaugh for
many years of prodigious service to public education, the young people of
Georgia, and this state and recognize and salute her over 53 years of dedication
and service to the teaching profession.
BE IT
FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to
transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mary Cronbaugh.
