A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending Bernetta Lee; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS, Bernetta Lee, a dedicated employee with the Georgia Department of Agriculture working in the Pesticide Division, received the 2002 Friend of the County Agent Award at a special ceremony held in Augusta, Georgia, for the Georgia Association of County Agricultural Agents; and
WHEREAS, this award is the highest recognition for service presented by the county agents and Bernetta is the first female and the first nonelected employee to receive the honor; and
WHEREAS, throughout her career her job performance has been distinguished by high quality, dedication, and efficiency and her assistance to county agents, farmers, and the general public has contributed substantially to the success of Georgia´s licensing and certification of pesticide applicators; and
WHEREAS, her excellent job performance, responsible attention to detail, and courteous and thoughtful manner have made Bernetta Lee a truly valuable employee and a wonderful model for others to follow.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body recognize and commend Bernetta Lee as the recipient of the 2002 Friend of the County Agent Award and convey to her their respect and appreciation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Bernetta Lee.
