Senate Resolution
199 By: Senators Shafer of the 48th, Unterman of the
45th and Balfour of the 9th
A RESOLUTION
Commending Daniel L. Perez; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, Daniel L. Perez of Boy Scout Troop 525
has attained the rank of Eagle Scout, the most distinguished rank conferred by
the Boy Scouts of America, which will be awarded to him at an Eagle Court of
Honor on March 1, 2003; and
WHEREAS, a candidate
for this most exceptional award in scouting must complete a rigorous program of
training and demonstrate his proficiency in selected scouting techniques and
attainment of the highest ideals of scouting;
and
WHEREAS, only one scout out of 97 ever reaches
this lofty level of achievement and Daniel L. Perez has ably demonstrated his
aptitude and competency in mastering the various special skills taught through
the Boy Scout program; and
WHEREAS, this
outstanding young man has truly exhibited a commitment to the scouting
principles of honesty and fairness and has consistently conducted himself in a
manner becoming of an Eagle Scout; and
WHEREAS, in
a world which consistently seems to accentuate the negative aspects of the
actions of young people, it is abundantly fitting and proper for this body to
recognize with particularity the outstanding accomplishments of this
extraordinary individual.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT
RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body commend Daniel L. Perez for
his diligence and dedication in pursuing the highest honor awarded by the Boy
Scouts of America and congratulate him on attaining the prestigious rank of
Eagle Scout.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the
Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate
copy of this resolution to Daniel L. Perez.
