A RESOLUTION

Recognizing and commending Kevin Millward; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Kevin Millward of Martinez, Georgia, made national football news and brought fame and honor to his family, his community, and the State of Georgia as he finished first in the 12-13 age group of the national Punt, Pass and Kick competition in Nashville; and

WHEREAS, this outstanding young athlete is a 13-year-old student at Evans Middle School in Columbia County where he is active in many of the school’s seventh grade projects; and

WHEREAS, outside of the classroom, Kevin has focused his energy and demonstrated exceptional discipline training to punt, pass, and kick a football with great precision; and

WHEREAS, his proficiency in the rigorous sport of football earned him the chance to compete for the premier position for his age and achieve a substantial personal goal; and

WHEREAS, he established himself as the very best in the country and for one shining moment his name and face appeared on national television in celebration of his great skill; and it is most fitting and appropriate that the accomplishments of this outstanding young athlete be properly recognized and honored.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body recognize and commend Kevin Millward on his national title in the Punt, Pass and Kick football competition and convey their heartiest congratulations on this momentous occasion.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Kevin Millward.
