Senate Resolution
529 By: Senator Unterman of the 45th
A RESOLUTION
Commending, congratulating, and saluting Eddie Daves, Rob
Low, Stoney Polite, Steve Robinson, and Tommy Rutledge; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS, in 2001 and 2002, these
instructors took the task of teaching the biggest recruit class that Gwinnett
County Fire and Emergency Services has put in a formal school;
and
WHEREAS, the increase in size was roughly
double the number of students that the Department has taught in the past;
and
WHEREAS, four relief driver classes were
taught, driving policies were rewritten, new truck certifications were made, and
a Battalion Apparatus Training Program was implemented;
and
WHEREAS, these instructors have continued to
pursue further education for themselves as well as the tasks they have taken on
at work; and
WHEREAS, the teamwork displayed by
these employees is phenomenal; and
WHEREAS, the
most effective quality that these gentlemen possess is their true dedication to
providing the highest quality of training that they are capable of
accomplishing; and
WHEREAS, each of the named
individuals has performed his duty in an outstanding manner;
and
WHEREAS, the teamwork these instructors display
made it impossible to single out anyone for an individual award;
and
WHEREAS, it is fitting that this award was
given to them as a team; and
WHEREAS, Gwinnett
County Fire and Emergency Services awarded the "Instructor Distinguished Service
Award" to Eddie Daves, Rob Low, Stoney Polite, Steve Robinson, and Tommy
Rutledge; and
WHEREAS, recognition by Gwinnett
County Fire and Emergency Services for Distinguished Service indicates a high
level of public service provided by the
recipient.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
SENATE that the members of this body congratulate Eddie Daves, Rob Low, Stoney
Polite, Steve Robinson, and Tommy Rutledge for their work in service of Gwinnett
County Fire and Emergency Services and the citizens of Gwinnett County and
Georgia and for their receipt of the "Instructor Distinguished Service
Award."
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary
of the Senate is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this
resolution to Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services.
